Evonik has a production base in Darmstadt, Germany,it plan to use ® HEMA-P 70M as the product name and to sell 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate as preservative and flame retardant. Typical product applications of this methacrylate monomer include adhesives and plastics, paints and coatings, fibers, composite resins and gel coatings.

Customers mainly used VISIOMER ® HEMA-P 70M as adhesion accelerator, but the latest research also shows that it is an effective halogen-free reactive flame retardant or preservative. Since the substance is used as a reactive diluent or a comonomer bonded in the polymer backbone, it will not migrate like conventional flame retardants. VISIOMER ® HEMA-P 70M combined with non polymerizable flame retardant improves the flame retardancy.

VISIOMER ® HEMA-P 70M is a monomer with various properties, which containing 30% methyl methacrylate.  It is particularly easy to process due to its low viscosity, and this special monomer is particularly suitable for optical applications of acrylate and methacrylate systems due to its low color index. It allows to be used in applications which requiring high transparency and surface quality, such as surface coatings, plastics or adhesives.

In addition, the monomer can also prevent static electricity and has emulsification stability.
